Carolyn Kennedy Interview By Scott McGlynn

Carolyn Bridget Kennedy is a Canadian actress, writer, producer & director.  After a long career as a paralegal, a friend encouraged her to attend her first acting workshop leading her, in 2012, to experiment and create a one-woman webseries, “The Bridget Linden Show”, about a single 30 something woman exploring new life experiences on her own and giving advice and encouragement to others.

She produced 125 episodes, which have 800,000+ views & 1,550+ subscribers on YouTube.  In 2015 she created her first scripted comedy webseries “Danger Pay”, playing “Michelle Scott”, a paralegal who accepts a job that pays more than usual to work for a bizarre lawyer.  It was nominated as 2016 Best Pilot by WebFest Montreal and was mentioned by Tubefilter as an “under-the-radar series to watch”.

In 2016, Carolyn also wrote, produced and starred in her first short comedy film “Super Speed Dates” about a group of women who attend a Super Speed Dating event and wonder if the men have another side to them. “Super Speed Dates” is an Official Selection at the 2016 Super Geek Film Festival in Fort Lauderdale Florida, part of Paradise City Comic Con.  “Super Speed Dates” was also on the Long List at the 2016 Winchester Short Film Festival.  Carolyn has also been cast in numerous other productions, credits for which are listed in IMDb.

Carolyn’s creative drive continues to propel her forward with her future projects as an actor, writer, producer and director, including feature films.  Carolyn is enrolled in acting, filmmaking and producing apprenticeships.  Carolyn has attracted international attention about her career.  She has overcome many obstacles, including losing over 110 pounds & keeping it off for over two decades. Her optimistic personality and perseverance has endeared her to the public.  Her down to earth nature and unique sense of humor have earned her a strong following on social media.  She has been featured in online publications and print magazines, and has appeared as a special guest on American talk shows, podcasts and radio shows around the globe.

Scott McGlynn: How did you get into acting?

Carolyn Kennedy: I had been working as a paralegal for 20 years when, in late 2011, a friend encouraged me to consider acting because of my personality, sense of humor, and comedic timing.  I took my first acting class and it resonated with me.

At the acting class, I was told that if you want to be an actor, you have to be realistic and not expect to be “discovered” while sitting on your couch at home.  You should consider creating your own character and web-series.

That acting class inspired me to create a bunch of skits about a single 30 something woman exploring new life experiences on her own and giving advice and encouragement to others.  “The Bridget Linden Show” was born – a one woman show that I wrote, produced, directed and acted in.

I was hooked!! I loved creating something out of nothing.  I loved the reaction I received from other people to what I was doing.  By 2014 I started to pursue acting and film making intensively.  Since then, I have invested greatly in my training both as an actor and a filmmaker by studying with my regular acting coach, Neil Schell, practicing in my home self-taping studio, and taking an intensive director/producer apprenticeship.  Also, I have taken introductory courses relating to many of the jobs performed on set as I feel that it is important as a director and a producer (and even as an actor) to have some knowledge of these roles.

SM: Did you know from a young age it was something you wanted to do?

CK: When I was young, I always enjoyed being engaged in creative play and using my imagination.  In junior high, I was part of my school’s drama program and had a major role in a school play.  I was drawn to music and played the alto saxophone in my school band.  In high school, I shifted my focus heavily to music.

I played lead alto saxophone in both concert band and jazz band and travelled with my school for international competitions.  I also attended International Music Camp in the United States every summer.  Then after graduating, life took its course and I chose a “practical” career as a paralegal.  However, life has a way of returning to its beginning.  Having rediscovered my passion for the creative, I am now doing what I love.

SM: You’re multi-talented, not just acting but directing/producing as well.  Is there anything you enjoy the most?

CK: Acting, directing and producing are three entirely different pursuits.  Along with writing, I enjoy all of these aspects equally, but for different reasons.

As an actor, I enjoy exploring and discovering the character both inside the text and inside me.

As a director, you get to formulate the initial vision of what is being filmed but, you get to enjoy how that vision is augmented by the creativity of the actors and this can be magical.  Engaging with the cast and crew and drawing out the best in everyone is part of that magic.

Producing is about problem solving and logistics in order to gather and coordinate a cast and crew.  Problem solving is its own reward.

Writing is a raw creative outlet.  There have been times when I have woken up in the middle of the night with a new idea that I just have to write down.  Out of love and necessity, I have written my own productions and I plan to continue to do so.  Being a part of each of these roles enhances my abilities in the others.

SM: You’re filming a movie right now called “Jindua”.  Can you tell me about it?

CK: I was cast as Canadian Immigration Officer “Julie Denton” in “Jindua”, a Bollywood romantic comedy that filmed this summer.  “Jindua” is about two people who are not actually a “real” couple, but who pose as one for immigration purposes.  I enjoyed my scenes with superstars Sakhawat Naz, Jimmy Shergill and Neeru Bajwa.  The film was shot in both Canada and in India.  It is expected to be released in the Spring of 2017.

SM: Your show “The Bridget Linden Show” is just hilarious, I love it!

Will we be seeing more anytime soon? (Fan On Twitter Question)

CK: Thank you so much!  I was unsure of what the popularity of “The Bridget Linden Show” would be or what it would become.  I am amazed that a project I wrote, acted in, produced and directed on my own, has evolved to what it has – over 800,000 views on YouTube!

Over time, the impact I was having on people became apparent.  Messages began to pour in to “Bridget”, with people letting me know that my videos were not only funny, but inspiring.  One person wrote me to say that one of my videos was the “shot in the arm” he needed at just the right time.  People have also told me that they are inspired to now write their own book or create their own web-series after watching one of my episodes.

Currently, my focus is on writing scripted shows.  In 2016 I released a new web-series “Danger Pay”.  However, “The Bridget Linden Show” is, and will always remain, very close to my heart as this was my first project.  So, although there are no immediately plans, it is possible that “Bridget” may re-appear on YouTube for some new adventures in the future.

SM: Do you ever suffer from nerves?  If you do, how do you deal with it?

CK: Yes, of course, I suffer from nerves like most people do.  I prefer to frame it in a positive light so that rather than viewing it negatively or allowing it to affect my work in a negative way, I instead think of it more as “nervous energy” or “excitement” and use it.  There is no point in fighting it if you are feeling it.  Accepting it allows you to be more present and focus on the work at hand.  I find that centering myself with deep breathing and meditating helps me feel grounded and able to control the nervous energy rather than being controlled by it.

SM: Who inspires you in your acting career?

CK: I admire strong comedic actors who are not only acting, but who are also writing, producing and directing their own projects.  I am inspired by people who make their own work and who create their own roles.

I know how much work it is to bring even a small project to life, like a web-series or short film, so I can imagine how much more is involved when it is a feature film or a television series.  I am drawn to the comedy genre as a writer and creator, so I would have to say that I am inspired by the likes of Ben Stiller, Tina Fay, Seth Rogen, Mindy Kaling, Amy Schumer and Amy Poehler.

SM: Have you ever visited the UK?  If yes, what did you like about it? If not, WHY NOT?! HA!

CK: I have not yet visited the UK.  I came close to travelling there this Fall when I made the Long List at the 2016 Winchester Short Film Festival with my first short comedy film “Super Speed Dates”.

Had the film been chosen, I likely would have attended.  I was also recently contacted by a film director in the UK regarding a possible role in a feature film.  Unfortunately, that is all I can reveal at this time about that project.  So, for now my travel plans to the UK are on hold.  But who knows, perhaps another opportunity will present itself in the near future with another film festival or a role.

SM: Can you tell me an embarrassing moment on set or an audition?

CK: I once had an audition where I had to park several blocks away.  I paid for three hours of parking as I thought this would be sufficient.  While wearing a new pair of high heels, I descended down the several flights of stairs of the parkade, walked the several blocks outside in 30 degrees Celsius heat, and climbed up the several flights of stairs where the audition was being held.

The auditions were running late, and at some point I realized that my parking was going to run out.  With a few people still ahead of me, I decided to run (not walk) all the way back to my vehicle, paid for more parking, and then ran back to the audition – again in 30 degree heat and my new high heels.  By the time I made it back, I was sweating and had worn huge blisters into my feet from the shoes.

As soon as I walked down the hallway, I was greeted with the door opening and “Carolyn?  We’re ready for you, come on in”.  I walked in, and didn’t mention a word about my ordeal.  So, glistening with sweat, out of breath and every step now causing excruciating pain, I completed the audition hoping no one would notice my predicament.

SM: What are your plans for 2017?  Have you got any more TV or Movies planned?

CK: In 2016, I released 6 webisodes of a scripted comedy series “Danger Pay”, which I wrote, produced, acted in and also edited.  It’s been released on YouTube at and also on Funny or Die at

My current focus is on developing “Danger Pay” as a television series and writing a 22 minute pilot for it.  However, other webisodes of “Danger Pay” are also possible as I have sketched out story lines for a further 22 episodes.

Also in 2016, I wrote, produced and acted in my first short comedy film “Super Speed Dates”.  This project hasn’t been released publicly yet as it is being submitted to a variety of film festivals around the world.  However, a teaser trailer is available for viewing on my personal YouTube channel at

I am working on developing other short and feature films.  I was a “Director in Training” for “Super Speed Dates” and would like to direct one of my short films this upcoming year.

I continue to audition for roles in other productions.  Stay tuned on social media to find out what I will be working on next.

Jon Klaasen Interview By Scott McGlynn

American Idol & X Factor USA star Jon Klaasen exclusive interview with myself,

We talked JLO, Bullying and the Perfect Date…

Scott: Tell us a little about yourself Jon?

Jon: I am 18 years old, 19 in January.  I have one younger brother who has been accused of being my “twin” since we were little.  I was born and raised in Indiana and I’ve been singing since I could talk.  I’m doing this for the impact I can have on the lives of others who can relate to the music I write and because it’s what I love.

Scott: Tell us 3 facts about yourself that no one else knows?

-I LOVE sports.  Growing up in Indiana I played a lot of sports as a kid.  Basketball being the main one.

-I have a little birthmark in my hair on the back of my head.  I’ve never seen it but my hairstylist always comments on it!

-My family and I are big milk drinkers.  It’s not surprising if we go through 2 gallons a day.

Scott: You appeared on US X-Factor and American Idol, How were these experiences for you?

Jon: They were great!  It’s an awesome opportunity to have and I really appreciate it.  My favourite part by far is hanging with the other extremely talented contestants.  You get the best jam sessions you’ll ever be a part of. I’m still really good friends with a few of them!

Scott: What are the audition processes like?

Jon: They can be pretty nerve-wracking on both shows.  You see a lot of people crying or just looking down when they come back out.  Very few come back with a smile.  In the end, it’s more of an adrenaline rush.

Scott: You had amazing comments from Harry Connick Jr,Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez that must have been a huge confident boost, right?

Jon: At first, yes, it can be!  Too many people let it get to their head though.  If you’re not humble in this business, you’ll be torn to shreds.  But yes, it’s pretty nice to hear those things from people as experienced and gifted as the judges.

Scott: You made some awesome music like “Coming Back,” “Persistence,” and now your new song “Irreplaceable”.  All of them had great feedback and your fans loved them.  How would you describe your music genre, or do you like to experience all types of music?

Jon: I don’t really have a name for my genre yet.  It will probably be categorised under the pop genre.  Pop is such a large and vague description, I like to describe it as acoustic-driven-pop-rock-with-sub-bass!

Scott:The X-Factor in the UK has just started have you seen any episodes? If yes, who do you like so far?

Jon: I haven’t yet actually.  I have recently been extremely busy with several projects which you might find out more about in a little bit 😉

Scott: What advice would you give someone trying to break out as an artist or thinking about going on shows like X-Factor / American Idol?

Jon: Don’t forget yourself as an artist.  Too many people try to be the next Justin Bieber or the next Taylor Swift.  The thing is, there is already a Justin Bieber and a Taylor Swift.  Be yourself, and create a brand for yourself that stands out.

Scott: Will we be seeing you on Tour any time soon? And any plans for the UK?

Jon: There are talks but I can’t make any promises yet.  If you follow me on all my social media as soon as I know about any shows you will too!

Scott: If you could perform with any artist in the world who would it be and why?

Jon: It varies, but right now it would be twenty one pilots.  I recently got to go to their show and it was honestly the best concert I’ve ever experienced.  I would LOVE to be a part of that.

Scott: What are your plans for 2016 / 2017?

Jon: Well, I will definitely have more songs coming out.  Music videos as well!  I’m also moving out to California!  I am in Cali a lot but currently live in Indiana, so the official move will be happening soon.

Scott:What would be your perfect date?

Jon: Skydiving, then driving up to a gorgeous look out at night.  So, if you’re down to skydive… hit me up!

Scott: I brought out my first book earlier this year called “OUT” its my true life story about getting bullied for who I was and how I overcame it. Did you ever suffer from bullying in school or in your life?

Jon: I did get bullied at some points.  Mainly in middle school because I was a late bloomer and didn’t grow much until my junior year of high school.  Some of the athletes would pick on me because I wanted to grow up to be a “rockstar”.  I always had my family’s support and that helped a lot.  The main thing that helped me get through was my faith.  Whenever I felt alone I just remembered God’s love for me.  It sounds cliché, I know it does, but it made a big difference in my life.

Brendan: Watching other people on YouTube was on of the influences that inspired me to start a channel. I really wanted to make a place that was all my own where I could talk about the things that I want to talk about and share it with others.

Scott: You have an amazing following and support, Did you ever think it get to this level?

Brendan: Honestly I never thought it would reach out this far, but that’s one of the cool things about life—it just kinda throws things at you and you have to take it. I love everything that comes my way and really appreciate it all!!

Brendan: The best video I filmed was probably the on where I met Gaga. Just talking about the life changing experience brought me back to it!

Scott: It must feel amazing going viral from such a young age, How’s it changed your life?

Scott: Whats next for you? Your goals in life?

Brendan: My goal in life is to just be happy with how I live it. I’m very happy right now and I hope it continues this way. I just want to live a fun, busy, and entertaining life.

Jerrod Interview with Scott McGlynn

Jerrod a muti talent American artist, Singing, Piano, Drums the lot! The friendliest people i interviewed! We chatting about growing up, music, Orlando!

Scott: When was the moment you thought to yourself music is what i want to

Jerrod: I always loved music. I’ve been playing drums since I was 2 years

old and it was passion of mine. I wanted to be a professional

drummer one day, but when I got older singing seemed a lot more

appealing to other people so I went with that. I was always shy to

sing and play drums but I love making people happy with music and

performing so I started doing covers of songs and put them on a cd

and started giving them to my friends.

Scott: Your talented guy you learnt muti things like drums, guitar, bass guitar and

piano. What do you like playing most and why?

Jerrod: Drums is my favorite out of them all, but I really love the piano as well.

Scott: You done some awesome covers, What your number 1 and why?

Jerrod: Wow…umm my favorite probably would have to be a change is gonna

come by sam cooke. I love sam cooke and was raised on his music so when I did

his cover I thought it would be just another one on youtube but the views spiked

over night and kept growing and that ended up being my most viewed video. My

new favorite would probably be lay me down by sam cooke. I played the piano

and sang it live one day and I loved it.

Scott: You new track “Diamond” is amazing! I loved it hearing it on soundcloud, Tell me about it…

Jerrod: Diamond was a song my manager wrote for me and when I heard it I

immediately fell in love with it. I did it a couple of times and the first few times, my

manager wanted more out of me. I did again late one night and it just clicked. I

love it

Scott: Have you got any plans coming to the UK in 2016?

Jerrod: I’ve always wanted to go, and I couldn’t think of a better way to do it then

to visit and share my gifts and talents with the UK! If they’ll have me of course.

Scott: Shows such as “The Voice” & “The X Factor” creates some great talent, Have

you ever thought about doing any of these shows?

Jerrod: Absolutely. I think about it almost everyday HA I was just talking to one of

my friends the other day and they were telling me I should go and try it. I would

love to work with the amazing artist on the show to grow and collaborate with

them. It would be a great experience

Scott: For your US fans, Will you be performing anywhere this year we can share

with them?

Jerrod: I plan to but I’ll keep that a secret and surprise you guys one day !

Scott: I brought out my first book earlier this year called “OUT” worldwide. Its about

my true life story being gay, getting bullied in school and work places growing up.

Did you ever experience anything like this?

Jerrod: Fortunately I never experienced that life and I always hated to see it. Even

growing up in a christian based school, I still saw some horrible things go on, but

I was the type of person to get along with everyone. I wouldn’t have cliques and

not talk to everyone. I was cool with everyone and hoped they were cool with me.

Scott: All our hearts go out to Orlando worldwide! What’s your thought on this?

Jerrod: Its really a tragedy. I did a song called “Change the World” and it caters to

situations like this. You should take a listen to it and share it because the world

needs a change, and with my music I hope to give life, peace, positvity, with

every lyric I write and sing. I want people to love each other no matter what their

political constituancy is or their race or gender. We are all people and we can all

make that change. Michael Jackson said it best, “if you want to make the world, a

better place, take a look at yourself, and make that change!” and I firmly believe

Scott: It was amazing speaking with you Jerrod, Last thing what is your top 3 items

you can not live without?

Jerrod: Thank you so much for having me! My top 3 things I cant live without first

and foremost is God. He is the one that makes everything possible for me. 2. My

family. I will always need them and will be there to support them and last but not

least my girlfriend. Shes been here for me since we were in the 4 th grade. Most of

the songs I do and write are for her and I want everyone to have someone like

her, so yes she is definitely something AND someone I cant live without.

Stooshe Official Story

Logo black
Girl group Stooshe are a vocal trio featuring Courtney Rumbold, Alexandra Buggs & Karis Anderson. These London Lasses broke onto the UK music scene in 2012, with an unconventional approach to the standard girl band formula.
Stooshe went on to achieve rapid success selling 800,000 singles and spending 6 weeks in the UK Chart top 5 with their 2nd single release ‘Blackheart’.
After charting in the top 40 for over 16 weeks ‘Blackheart’ received a nomination for “Best British single” at the 2013 Brit Awards, up against some of the biggest names in the industry.
The girl’s long awaited album “London With The Lights On” was released in May 2013, charting at number 8 to a great media reception. The Independent’s Simon Price quoted “The south London trio’s effortlessly assured debut combines classic 1960s soul, street party reggae, upfront electro-pop, cackling Night Bus backchat and shameless sexual innuendo. And there is nothing not to love about it”!
In a relatively small amount of time Stooshe’s achievements spoke for themselves, touring with pop history’s biggest names, Nikki Minaj and Jennifer Lopez, closing the Mobo’s, getting nominated for a Brit and having had 4 top 20’s, 2 top 10’s and a top 10 selling album.
Known for their eclectic style, quirky lyrics, and above all phenomenal and precise vocals, Stooshe are looking to deliver a record which lyrically depicts the trying journey they have been through, while musically fusing pop/r&b with strong beats, thick synths, live instruments and melodic soulful singable melodies.
